Court Re-Closing in South Dakota?

By on September 22, 2020

We hear a lot about reopening. Now we’re starting to hear about the opposite. Two South Dakota counties have suspended jury trials, amid a resurgence of COVID-19. Trials set before October 13 in Minnehaha and Lincoln counties will be reset. These counties include Sioux Falls, South Dakota’s largest city with a population of 180,000. The bar toward reopening again is high: All executive and Department of Health orders related to the county must be lifted, according to the courts.
